Website Accessibility
This website utilizes various technologies designed to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows individuals with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s User Interface (UI) and design it to meet their personal needs.
Additionally, the site uses an AI-based application that runs in the background and constantly optimizes its accessibility level. This application fixes the site’s HTML issues and adapts the site’s functionality and behavior for screen readers used by blind users and keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
Screen Reader and Keyboard Navigation
Our website implements ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes alongside various behavioral changes to ensure that blind users visiting with screen readers can read, understand, and enjoy the site’s functions. When a screen reader user enters the site, they are immediately prompted to enter the Screen Reader Profile. Our site covers several key screen reader requirements:
Screen Reader Optimization: We run a background process that learns the site’s components from top to bottom to ensure ongoing compatibility even when the site is updated. We provide screen readers with meaningful data using ARIA attributes (e.g., accurate form labels, descriptions for actionable icons, validation prompts, and element roles like buttons and menus).
Image Recognition: The background process scans all images and provides accurate, meaningful image-object-recognition-based descriptions as ALT (alternative text) tags for non-described images. It also extracts embedded text using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology.
Activation: To activate screen reader adjustments at any time, users can press Alt + 1. Screen reader users also receive automatic notifications to activate the mode upon entering the site. These adjustments are compatible with popular screen readers including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard Navigation Optimization: The background process adjusts the HTML and adds JavaScript behaviors to enable keyboard operation. This includes navigating with Tab and Shift + Tab, operating dropdowns with arrow keys, closing them with Esc, and triggering buttons and links with Enter.
Quick Navigation: Users can use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
Supported Accessibility Profiles
Epilepsy Safe Profile: Eliminates the risk of seizures by disabling flashing animations and dangerous color combinations.
Visually Impaired Profile: Adjusts the site for various visual impairments such as degrading eyesight, tunnel vision, cataracts, and glaucoma.
Cognitive Disability Profile: Provides assistive features to help users with cognitive disabilities (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia, CVA) focus on essential elements.
ADHD Friendly Profile: Significantly reduces distractions and noise to help users browse and read more easily.
Blind Users Profile (Screen Readers): Optimizes the site for compatibility with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor Impaired): Enables operation via keyboard (Tab, Shift + Tab, Enter).
UI, Design, and Readability Adjustments
Font Adjustments: Users can change font size, family (type), spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
